Men's Basketball Improves to 6-0 with Second Straight Overtime Win

COCHRAN, GA - The Knights men's basketball team improved to 6-0 on the season and 1-0 in SSAC play with an overtime win over the Blue Mountain College Toppers, 69-68.  The loss was the first of the season for the Toppers who are now 4-1.  Darrell White led all scorers with 22 points includeing 11-12 from the charity stripe and Tyrone Young earned his 3rd straight double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.  Antony Edwards was the 3rd Knight in double-digits with 10 points while Kevin Ford led the team with 4 assists and 2 steals.

The Knights fell behind in the first half and trailed by a score of 35-27 after 20 minutes of play.  A second half surge after trailing by as many as 14 with 12 minutes remaining, got the team back in the lead late and eventually led to a tie at 60 for the final 30 seconds of regulation.  The Knights opened a 3 point lead early in overtime before the teams were tied at 65.  After the Knights took a 2 point lead at 67-65, the Toppers buried a 3 for a 68-67 lead but a 2-point jumper by Tyrone Young with 25 seconds left turned out to be the game winner.

The Knights host SSAC opponent Saturday, December 1 at 2pm in Morris Gym to finish out the home games in 2018 but will play at Georgia State, William Carey, and Loyola over the next two weeks.
