Men's Basketball Fall to #13 William Carey Crusaders

COCHRAN, GA - Men's basketball held the lead for most of the game but in the end, the #13 William Carey Crusaders (18-6 overall, 14-2 SSAC) came back from as much as 9 down to earn the 83-78 win.  The loss puts the Knights at 9-7 in SSAC play and 14-7 overall.  The Knights were led by Darrell White with a game-high 26 points and Antony Edwards had 13 points.  Tyrone Young led the Knights wih 7 rebounds and Kevin Ford had 6 assists as well as 3 steals.  

The Crusaders had 5 players in double-digits as they chipped away at the Knights' lead to 2 at half time.  The Crusaders took a 1 point lead out of the half with a 3 to start the 2nd half.  From that point forward, the teams were tied 5 times and had 7 lead changes but the Crusaders had a 12-3 run from the 7:47 mark to the 2:35 mark to open up the lead to as many as 10 over the final 2 minutes and earn the win.

The Knights have 6 games remaining in the regular season and currently are in the 5th seed tied with Dalton State but owning the head-to head tiebreaker and a half game behind (RV) Loyola who comes to Cochran on Saturday, February 9 following the 1PM women's game for Homecoming.
