Women's Basketball Drops Pair of Games on Road Trip

COCHRAN, GA - The women's basketball team faced a tough road trip to Blue Mountain, Mississippi and McKenzie, Tennessee over the weekend and came out on the losing end of both games.  The first stop was at Blue Mountain College as the Toppers avenged their loss to the Knights in Cochran from November with a 64-58 win at their home court.  The Knights were led by Joy Sadler with her 6th double-double of the season with 17 points and 15 rebounds but the team shot 28.4% from the field and 68.2% from the free throw line as the Toppers shot 30.4% from the field and 100% from the line to earn the victory.

Saturday's game at #16 Bethel University did not go any better for the Knights as the Wildcats won 107-52.  Dexshalyn Polite led the Knights with 19 poins and Kianna Delas added 11.  Sadler, Polite, and Miyah Fitzgerald each pulled in 5 rebounds for the Knights.  The Wildcat shooting was too much for the Knights as they shot 48.1% from the field and 51.6% from 3-point range going 16-31 in the game.

The Knights return home to the friendly confines of Morris Gym for a matchup with Martin Methodist College on Thursday, January 31 at 5:30 PM.  The teams faced each other January 3, 2019 in a loss for the Knights who will be looking to avenge that result.
