Knights Ousted in NAIA Opening Round

Knights Ousted in NAIA Opening Round

The Knights were able to keep their season alive when they received the at-large bid for the NAIA Tournament and traveled to Lima, Ohio to take on Cumberlands University in the first match of the Opening Round. The Knights and Phoenix were two evenly matched teams so the match was expected to be close. The two teams traded possessions and went into halftime tied, 0-0. The second half was much of the same until the Pheonix got on the board in the 64th minute with a shot that went through the hands of Courtney Link. The goal was the only one of the match as the Knights season is over after the 1-0 loss. The Knights outshot the Pheonix 13-7 as Hannah Theriault led the team with 4 shots and Miagh Downey had 3 shots. The Knights finish the season with a 12-7-1 record and will look to come back even stronger next season as they lose no players to graduation.
