Wilder and Rucker Qualify for IHSA Semi-Finals, Equestrian Team Finishes Regular Season Strong

HASTINGS, FL - The Middle Georgia State Knights Equestrian team had a very successful weekend at the University of North Florida Western Show and Regional Show.

At Saturday's regular season finaley, intermediate two rider Blair Meldrum achieved first in her class. Novice rider Kyra Neal, Intermediate rider Sarah Andrews Rucker, and Beginner rider Heinz Gardener all received fourth in their classes. Open rider Jamie Wilder placed 6th in the Open Reining class. Finishing the day was Bradley Lee achieving third in his Beginner class.

At Regionals on Sunday, the MGA Equestrian team had four riders who qualified earlier in the season competing. Out of the four riders, two qualified for semi-finals as Open rider Jamie Wilder received 3rd in her reining class but won first in the Open Horsemanship class which qualified her for Open Horsemanship Semi-finals. Beginner rider Sarah Andrews Rucker won first in her Horsemanship class, which qualified her for Semi-Finals.

Wilder and Rucker will compete on March 16-17 in Ocala, Florida for spots in the IHSA Nationals on the weekend of May 4-5.
