Men's Basketball Upsets #14 William Carey to Reach Semifinals of SSAC Tournament

MONTGOMERY, AL - The men's basketball team pulled off the upset they came so close to twice in the regular season taking down #14 and tournament 2-seed, William Carey University 77-72 on day 2.  The Knights were led by 1st Team All-Conference selection Darrell White with a game-high 20 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals while Tyrone Young had another double-double with 10 points and 10 assists.  Antony Edwards had 17 points and Marquez Hinton had 10 points and 9 rebounds to help lead the Knights to the win.  Kinsey Burgess had 3 blocks in the game.

The Knights trailed for most of the first half falling behind by as many as 7 and leading by as many as 6 before taking a 38-35 halftime lead.  In the second half, the Knights trailed for a total of 2:04 and were tied 7 times but did not trail over the last 13:44 of the game and outscored the Crusaders 39-37 in the second half.  The Knights outshot the Crusaders 42% to 39% for the game on the way to the win.
