#4 Men's Tennis Headed to SSAC Tournament Championship with 5-0 Sweep of (RV) Loyola in Semis

MOBILE, AL - The #4 and 1-seed men's tennis team defeated the 4th seeded Loyola (LA) Wolfpack on Thursday, April 25th to advance to the SSAC Tournament Finals where they will face #8 William Carey University on Friday the 26th at 9am Eastern.  The Knights swept the match against Loyola taking the first 5 singles positions for a 5-0 win for their 13th straight win of the season.  The match was moved up due to pending rain and started with singles as the facility had indoor courts if doubles needed to be played.  Yuri Syromolotov took the #1 spot 6-0, 6-3 while Jimmy Merah won at #2 6-0,6-1, and Lucas De Freitas got the #3 singles spot 6-1,6-3.  Octavio Tamola finished off his opponent 6-0,6-0 and Alejandro Prada won the #5 singles 6-4, 6-2 for 8th shutout of the season.

The Knights and Crusaders will meet for the second time this season with the Knights having won the first matchup as the two opened SSAC play in a match that went to 5-4 on March 14 and was the win which propelled the Knights to the SSAC Regular Season Championship starting their 13 game win streak.
