Volleyball Wins on Senior Day

COCHRAN, GA - The Knights women's volleyball team closed out their home schedule on Saturday, October 27 with recognition of their three seniors and a win over the Brewton Parker College Barons, 3-0.  The gives the team a 2 game lead over the Baons for the 8th and final spot in the SSAC tournament which starts in two weeks in Montgomery, AL.  

Senior Shannon Huber had another good game on the defensive side with 14 digs and one assist in her final action at home.  Seniors Jordan Rayburn and Alexxi Howell led the Knights in kills as Rayburn had 12 and Howell with 11 in the game.  Cara MacFarland led the team with 26 assists as well as adding 6 kills in the game.  After recognizing the seniors prior to lineups, the Knights opened the first set with a 25-15 win to take an early 1-0 lead.  The second game was closer at 25-22 with the Knights trailing the Barons at a couple points before taking the lead late for the win.  The third game was tied at 7 before the Knights used a 6-0 run to go up 13-7 and did not let the Barons get closer than 4 the rest of the way.

The Knights travel to Tennessee for the final weekend of the season on November 2 (Martin Methodist, Pulaski, TN) and November 3 (Bethel University, McKenzie, TN) and begin to prepare for the SSAC tournament which starts on November 8.
