Macon, GA - The Knights were on their home court for the first time this season as they hosted the Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern on a blustery, cold day. The Knights were looking to get a feel for where they sat going into the Peach Belt next season, playing against the future conference foe.
The Knights had little trouble with the Hurricanes in the doubles portion of the match, winning 6-0 at the #3 match with
Yana Prihach/
Aya El Marrasse Zarioui and the #2 match with
Tamanna Takoria/Berta Castelló Petrus to take the point. The Knights carried their dominant performance into the singles competition with 6-0 from
Ainhoa Meili Fernandez del Moral,
Aya El Marrasse Zarioui,
Tamanna Takoria, and
Yana Prihach. Berta Castelló Petrus got a win at #2 singles (6-2, 6-3) and
Marina Prieto Gonfaus finished off the sweep at #1 singles (7-6, 6-2).
The Knights will be back on the court on Firday, February 21st as they welcome another NCAA D-II opponent in the Golden Rams of Albany State University. That match is set to start at 1 PM EST.
