Stuckey Field
Stuckey Field is home to the Middle Georgia State University baseball team and is located in the heart of the Cochran campus. A facility that boasts incredible history, the Middle Georgia baseball program has won four national championships in their history (1979, 1980, 1982 and 1995) while also finishing as the national runner-up on three occasions (1983, 1990 and 1996).
A program which has seen 19 of its alumni reach Major League Baseball (MLB) while witnessing over 100 players be drafted or signed into the professional ranks, Stuckey Field has a rich history of player talent.
Most recently, the facility has received upgrades including newly branded windscreens, home plate turf halo and an expanded home bullpen area. New updates to the press box sound system have also been recently installed to enhance both the student-athlete and spectator experience. New backstop netting was installed in time for the 2025 season which has both aided the spectator view but also increased safety for fans with the netting now extending all the way to the dugouts.
Stuckey Field boasts a well-manicured natural grass surface, large dugouts, elevated spectator seating, and a pressbox for gameday personnel and media. A full-service concessions stand, public restrooms and gazebo seating are also on site and a part of the gameday experience. A full infield tarp is also on hand to assist with inclement weather and to avoid lengthy rain delays.
A covered hitting facility down the right-field line assists the team in getting their work in no matter the weather conditions with new netting installed in time for the 2025 season.
The Knights also benefit from easy access to their home locker room which is housed inside the Athletic Training Facility (ATF), a building adjacent to Stuckey Field and a short walk to the entrance of the field. The ATF not only houses the team’s locker room but also showcases space for a Team Meeting Room, Film Room, Umpire changing room, Athletic Training Room and the coaches office suite. A baseball specific conference room is also available for meetings.
Just beyond the left-field wall of Stuckey Field is Whipple Hall which houses MGA Athletics Administration offices as well as support amenities such as an Athletics Academic Resource Center and a student-athlete lounge. The team also has use of an Athletics-only weight room facility inside Morris Gym as well as the Recreation and Wellness Center for their training needs.
