Lakeland, FL - The Knights were in Lakeland, Florida on Spring Break but had some business to handle on the court first as they played the 4th-ranked Fire of Southeastern University. The Knights were on a roll as of late, having won their last four matches and were looking to get a major upset against the Fire.
The Knights had a tough test but were up for the challenge as they won in the #2 Doubles match but that came after dropping the #1 and #3 Doubles match and the Fire would take the 1-0 lead heading into Singles competition. The Knights tied the match up at 2-2 after wins by
Dominik Simunovic and
Duarte Mestre in straight sets. The Fire won the #1 Singles match to take a 3-2 lead but the Knights looked to be in a position to win the match after taking the first set in both the #3 and #5 Singles matches. The Fire showed why they were so highly ranked as they kept their composure to come back and win both match as the Knights lost the match 5-2.
The Knights will have the rest of their Spring Break off as they prepare for their next match on Wednesday, March 26th when they travel to Augusta University. That match will start at 1 PM EDT.
