COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Knights headed to Columbus, Georgia on Friday, April 24th as they were set to play in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. The Knights came into the tournament as the 5-seed and were set to face the 4-seed Bearcats of Lander University. The Knights fell behind in doubles competition as the Bearcats won the point after 6-1 and 6-3 wins. The Knights would have to win four of the six singles matches to come away with the victory. They fell behind 2-0 after losing the #4 singles match but a 7-5, 6-2 win by
Alejandro Vizoso in the #1 singles match and a 6-2, 6-4 win by
Alexandr Achour in the #3 singles match tied the overall match at 2-2. The Bearcats got a three set win in the #2 singles match but a 6-4, 2-6, 6-0 win by
Duarte Mestre in the #6 singles match tied the match at 3-3 and put all of the pressure on the #5 singles match. The match went into the third set but the Bearcats came away with the win and the Knights lost the match 4-3.
