Women's Basketball Opens SSAC Play with Win Over Toppers

COCHRAN, GA - The women's basketball team opened Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) play with a 65-59 win over the Blue Mountain College Toppers to move to 4-3 on the season and open conference play at 1-0.  The Knights were led by Joy Sadler with a game-high 17 points and Kiana Delas with 16 points.  Mariah Scott had a season and game-high 16 rebounds with 8 offehensive rebounds while Sadler grabbed 8 rebounds.  Ilynn Spann had 5 steals and 5 assists to lead in both categories.

The Knights opened the first quarter with a 13-11 edge then went to half time up 4 at 28-24.  The Toppers had a big 3rd quarter outscoring the Knights 21-12 to lead by 5 headed to the final quarter.  The Knights outscored the Toppers 25-14 in the 4th quarter to earn the win.

The Knights host Bethel University on Saturday, December 1 at noon then on Tuesday, December 3 will host Carver College at 5:30 PM.
