Box Score MONTGOMERY, AL - Men's basketball punched their ticket to the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Championship Finals for the second time in four years with a 94-93 double overtime victory against the #17 Bethel University Wildcats. The Knights trailed by 9 at the half and as many as 18 with 10:25 remaining, but chipped away at the Wildcats' lead and tied the game with 2 seconds remaining in regulation. Michael Graham finally came in with a bucket with 2.9 seconds left in the second overtime to propel the Knights to the finals and a 5-0 overtime record this season. Darrell White led the Knights with a career-high and game-high 31 points. Antony Edwards added 20 points for the Knights along with 8 rebounds. Tyrone Young had 14 points and 9 rebounds while Marques Hinton had 11 points. Edwards led the Knights with 4 assists.
The Knights face the Wolfpack for the third time this season having split the prior to meetings. The Knights won the first matchup on December 16, 91-86 in overtime in New Orleans, LA. The Wolfpack defeated the Knights in Cochran 88-77 on February 9. The Wolfpack are the 4 seed and defeated 1-seed Stillman on Friday to earn their spot in the finals while the Knights upset 2-see William Carey on Thursday and 3-seed Bethel Friday. Loyola comes into the matchup with an overall record of 20-11 and the Knights are at 19-11. The winner receives the automatic bid from the SSAC to the NAIA National Tournament.
