Box Score 2 Macon, GA - The Knights were on the road as they played Blue Mountain College on Friday and Talladega College on Saturday. The Knights were 0-3 all-time against the Toppers and 1-0 all-time against the Tornadoes.
Friday - Blue Mountain College
The Knights started out the match cold as they quickly down 17-4. They would be down 23-7 but would score eight straight points to make the set interesting but would go on to lose 25-16. The second set would be closer to start off but the Toppers would use multiple point clusters to pull ahead and take the second set 25-15. The Knights would hold their own in the third set as they would stay with the Toppers, keeping the game tied at 15-15, but would only score four points the rest of the set to lose 25-19. Three players for the Knights led the team in kills with six kills each,
Brooke Norwood led with 22 assists, and
Jenna Langley led with 14 digs.
Saturday - Talladega College
The Knights would be back in action the following day against Talladega. The Knights would get out to a 5-3 lead in the first set but lose the next six points. They would tie the set up at 12-12 and keep it close but would lose the last four points of the set and lose 25-18. The Knights would go down to start the second set but would come back to take a 20-19 lead before losing five of the last six points to lose the set 25-21. The Knights would have another close set in the third set as they would be down 15-13 at one point in the set before winning six straight points to take the 19-15 lead and go on to win the set 25-22. The fourth set of the match would go back and forth as both teams would go on winning sprees before the other team would come back to tie the set. The set would be tied at 19-19 towards the end before the Tornadoes would win the last six points to win the set, 25-19, and the match, 3-1.
Courtney Williamson led the way for the Knights with nine kills,
Brooke Norwood led with 27 assists, and
Alia Gomez led with 22 digs.
The Knights will be back in action on Friday, October 8th as they are set to host Brewton-Parker College. That match will start at 2 PM EST/ 1 PM CST.
