Volleyball Wins Two on the Road

Mount Vernon, GA - The Knights traveled to Mount Vernon, Georgia to finish off the regular season with a dual match against the Barons of Brewton-Parker College and the Falcons of Florida College.

Brewton-Parker College

The Knights would start off the match trading points with the Barons before going on a eight point stretch to go up 10-3. The Knights would continue to beat up on the Barons as they would win the first set 25-14. The Knights would start off the second set by losing the first four points of the set before tying up the set at 5-5. The Knights and Barons would continue to play a close set before the Knights would go on a seven point stretch to pull away from the Barons to win the set 25-19. The third set would set up to be the toughest for the Knights as they would fall behind early in the set. The Knights would be down for most of the set before tying it up at 16-16. The Knights would fight hard as they would take the set 25-22.

Florida College

The Knights would have to recover quickly as they would take on the Falcons after the first match. The first set of the match would show that the Knights were ready for the second match as the set would be played closely throughout before the Knights would score five straight points at the end to win the set 25-21. The Knights would jump out to an early lead in the second set as it looked like they might win the set easily. The Knights would not have an easy time as the Falcons would make a come back and the set would take some extra points to finish as the Knights would lose the second set 29-27. The Knights would come back in the third set with some fire as they would get out to an early lead and would not let the Falcons have a chance at a come back as they would win the third set 25-12. The fourth set would play close early on but the Falcons would get eight straight points to take a 21-13 lead in the lead and go on to win the set 25-18. The fifth and final set would be eventful as the Knights and Falcons both wanted the win. The Knights and Falcons would trade the lead before the Knights were able to get two points at the end to win the set 15-13 and secure the match.

The Knights will be back in action for the postseason as they travel to Montgomery, Alabama to take part in the SSAC Tournament as the 7-seed. Their first match will take place on Thursday, November 11th as they take on the 3-seed Blue Mountain College Toppers. That match will start at 2:30 PM EST/1:30 PM CST.
