Naufal Kamaruzzaman has been selected to play in the Davis Cup for his home country, Malaysia. The Davis Cup is a tennis tournament between countries from all over the world as each country selects their best players to compete. The Davis Cup is the tennis equivalent to the Ryder Cup in golf. Naufal and his teammates will begin play on September 15th in Amman, Jordan as they are a part of the Asia/Oceania Group III along with: Hong Kong, Jordan, Kuwait, Pacific Oceania, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Syria, and Vietnam. Malaysia was put into Pool A along with Hong Kong and Kuwait where they will play a round-robin format with the top two teams playing in a playoff as the winner will be promoted while the third place team in the Pool will be relegated to Asia/Oceania Group IV.
Kamaruzzaman is an SSAC All-Conference player and SSAC Scholar Athlete.
