Hattieburg, MS - The Knights were in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Saturday as they completed their weekend SSAC road trip against the Crusaders of William Carey University. The Knights were looking to avenge a loss earlier in the season at the hands of the Crusaders. The Knights started the game off slow as they would quickly fall behind the Crusaders and would be behind by double digits halfway through the first quarter. The Knights would start to find their offense at the end of the first quarter but would still find themselves down 25-15 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter would not fare any better for the Knights as they would continue to fall further behind and only be able to score nine points throughout the quarter. The Knights would be behind 43-24 at the halftime break as they would look to find their offense during the break. The Knights would start the third quarter seeing the deficit grow to 20 points. The Knights offense would come alive at that point as the Knights would make a run at the Crusaders and would end up down by only one point at the end of the third quarter. The Knights would try to carry their momentum into the fourth quarter as they would grab the lead at the start of the quarter and have a five point lead with 4:40 remaining in the game. The Knights energy would run out as the Crusaders would regain the lead and pull away from the Knights as they Knights would go on to lose 75-68. Rykia Pennamon led the Knights with 16 points as Destiny Kincaide and Destanee Wright each reached double digits in scoring. The Knights will be back on their home court on Tuesday, February 1st as they host the Tornadoes of Talladega College. That game will tip-off at 5:30 PM EST.
