Mount Vernon, GA - The Knights were back in action on Tuesday, October 1tth as they traveled to Mount Vernon, Georgia to take on the Barons of Brewton-Parker College. The game was originally scheduled to be played on October 1st before weather forced a date change. The Knights were coming off of a close game with the University of Mobile where they dominated on the offensive side of the ball and were looking to do the same Tuesday night. The Knights started off the match doing just that as they would take the ball into the offensive side of the field and keep it there for most of the half. The Knights would get on the scoreboard first in the seventh minute with a goal from Miagh Downey to go up 1-0. The Knights would continue to attack but would not get any more goals in the first half as they would go into the halftime break up 1-0. The Knights would continue their dominance of possession in the second half as they would only allow the Barons to get off two shots in the second half. The Knights would extend their lead in the 69th minute with another goal from Downey and put the game away with goals in the 75th minute from Ellie Russell and 80th minute from Hannah Theriault. The Knights would win the match 4-0, outshooting the Barons 18-4. The Knights will be back at home for their next match, a conference matchup with the Toppers of Blue Mountain College on Thursday, October 13th. The match is set to kickoff at 5:30 PM EST.
