Macon, GA - The Knights were back on the court this past weekend as they continue to make their way through conference play late in the season. The Knights were looking to carry some momentum after defeating the Scotties of Agnes Scott College earlier in the week. The Knights would fall behind the Running Eagles early in the first set but would come back to make the set close as both teams would trade points until the Knights would drop two points to lose the first set 28-26. The second set would start out closer than the first with the Knights pulling ahead before surrendering the lead towards the middle of the set and the Knights would drop the second set 25-20. The third set would start out like the first set with the Knights falling behind from the start and the Knights would never recover, losing the set 25-14 and losing the match. The Knights would come back on Saturday against the Tornadoes of Talladega College with a chance to sweep the regular season matchups. The Knights would fall behind the Tornadoes early on in the first set but would come back to take a 17-16 lead later in the set. The Knights would run out of gas as the Tornadoes would go on to win the set 25-21. The second set of the match would be closer as both teams would start the set trading the lead as neither team could get out to a large lead. The Knights would prevail in the end, winning the set 27-25. The third set would be much like the second with neither team being able to sustain a lead. The Knights would win the set 25-22 after winning the final five points and the Knights looked to be on their way to another victory. The fourth set would see the Tornadoes build a lead early on and the Knights would be unable to make the comeback as they would lose the set 25-17 and be forced to play a fifth and final set. The Knights would jump out to a 7-4 lead but the Tornadoes would use a six point run to pull ahead and the Knights would go on to lose the set 15-11. The Knights will be back in action on Wednesday, October 19th as they travel to Wesleyan College to take on the Wolves. The match is set to start at 7 PM EST.
