Cochran, GA - The Knights were on the court Thursday as they hosted the Eagles of Faulkner University. The Eagles were ranked 18th in the previous NAIA poll and the Knights were looking to get the upset victory. The Knights would get the lead early but the Eagles would tie the game at 7-7. The Knights would take over the game as they would regain the lead and star to pull away from the Eagles. A 19-4 run for the Knights would put them ahead 26-11 at the halfway point of the first half but the Eagles would recover as they would cut into the lead, making it a five point game with 4:13 remaining in the first half. The Knights would score the last five points of the half and take a 39-29 lead into halftime. The Knights would continue to lead in the second half as they would extend their lead to 13 points with 15:47 remaining in the game. The Knights lead would crumble away as the Eagles would tie the game at 58-58 with 10:21 remaining in the game and the Knights would have to try and find their shooting rhythm. The game would be tied at 61-61 with 8:22 remaining when the Eagles would pull away from the Knights and the Knights would go on to lose 91-77.
Tristan Harper led the Knights in scoring with 23 points, as
Juwan Johnson would add 17 points and
Tyler Willoughby would add 16 points. The Knights will be back in action on Saturday, February 12th as they host the Rams from the University of Mobile. Tip-off will be at 2 PM EST.
