Knights Stay Hot on Road Against Nighthawks

Thomasville, GA - The Knights were on the road Wednesday as they traveled to Thomasville, Georgia to take on the Nighthawks of Thomas University. The Knights were riding a five game winning streak and were looking to keep their streak going. The Knights would struggle to start the first game as the Nighthawks would score the first run in the bottom of the second inning. The Knights would get on the board in the third inning after a two-run double by Georgia Bice would give the Knights the 2-1 lead. The Knights would get another run in the fourth inning after an error by the Nighthawks would allow Logan Blizzard to score. The Knights would score again in the fifth inning on RBI singles by Bice and Blizzard and RBI doubles by Alexis Cosgrove and Addison Renfroe to put the Knights up 7-1. The Nighthawks would score runs in the fifth and sixth innings but the Knights would hold on for the 7-3 win. The Knights would open up the second game with three runs in the first inning on an RBI triple by Summer Lawrence, a sacrifice fly from Cosgrove, and an RBI double from Riley Edge. The Nighthawks would score runs in the first, second, and third innings to go ahead 4-3. The Knights would blow the doors open in fifth inning with eight runs on five hits, capped off by a two-run home run by Edge and a grand slam by Emma Raulerson. The Knights would go ahead 11-4 and would win the game by the same score. The wins by the Knights put their record at 9-1 for the season and give them a seven game winning streak. The Knights will return to the field on Tuesday, February 22nd as they host the Skyhawks of Point University. FIrst pitch will be at 2 PM EST.
