Box Score Montgomery, AL - The Knights were on the court in Montgomery, Alabama as they finished the regular season as the 8-seed in the SSAC and they were set to take on the 9-seed Toppers of Blue Mountain College. The Knights defeated the Toppers on both occasions during the regular season so the Knights were confident going into the matchup. The Knights would come out to start the game slow as the Toppers would score the first eight points of the game before the Knights would make their first basket with 7:31 remaining in the first quarter. The Knights would be unable to sustain any momentum throughout the first quarter as the Toppers would continue to pull away with the Knights down 23-9 at the end of the first quarter. The Knights would score the firs three points of the second quarter but would still be unable to build any momentum as they would remain down by double digits throughout the quarter. The Knights would go into the halftime break down 33-20. The Knights would come out of the break with a fire lit under them as they would quickly cut the deficit down to 34-28 with 7:33 remaining in the third quarter. The Toppers would gain control of the game as the Knights deficit would swell to 20 points with 3:10 remaining. The Knights would end the third quarter down 53-35 as they would look to make a huge comeback to try and get back in the game. The Knights deficit would be too large as they would be unsuccessful in their comeback attempt as the Knights would lose 67-53. The Knights shot just 28 percent from the field. Destanee Wright led the Knights with 16 points and Rykia Pennamon adding 9 points and 11 rebounds. The Knights finish the season 8-12 and will look toward next season for more success.
