Knights Split With Eagles on Road

Montgomery, AL - The Knights were on the road on Sunday as they traveled to Montgomery, Alabama to take on the Eagles of Faulkner University. The games were originally set to take place on Saturday but rain forced the games to be pushed back a day. The Knights went into the matchup still looking for their first conference win of the season. The Knights looked good early on as they would score three runs in the first inning with an RBI double from Emma Raulerson and a two-run home run from Georgia Bice, her third of the season. The Knights would get two more runs in the fourth inning on a two-run single from Lauren Heath as they would take a 5-0 lead. The Knights would give up a run in the bottom of the fourth inning but would keep the Eagles from scoring any more runs as they would win the first game of he doubleheader 5-1. The Knights would start off the second game of the series giving up two runs in the first inning but would score two runs in the top of the second inning after a Barrett Howell single and error by the Eagles would allow a run to score and a Heath sacrifice fly as the Knights would tie the game at 2-2. The Knights would score two more runs in hte third inning on an RBI single from Raulerson and an RBI double from Bice to go up 4-2. The Knights would give up a run in the bottom half of the inning but would continue to lead the Eagles 4-3. The Eagles would score two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and the Knights would be unable to score in the top of the seventh as they would lose the second game 5-4. The Knights will return home as they prepare for a mid-week doubleheader on Wednesday, March 23rd as they host the Fighting Bees from St. Ambrose University. First pitch is set to take place at 2 PM EST.
