Cochran, GA - The Knights were back in action at home on Tuesday as they hosted the Nighthawks of Thomas University. The Knights had already faced the Nighthawks once this season, winning both games on the road, and looked to get two more wins before heading into conference play. The Knights would give up two runs in the first inning but would come back in the bottom half of the inning with and RBI single from
Emma Raulerson and an RBI double from
Alexis Cosgrove to tie the game up at 2-2. The Nighthawks would score another run in the fifth inning but again the Knights would answer back in the bottom half of the inning on a
Summer Lawrence RBI single to tie the game back up at 3-3. The game would go into extra innings with the Nighthawks scoring in the top of the ninth inning. The Knights would threaten in the bottom half of the inning with runners on second and third with one out but would be unable to score any runs as they would lose the game 4-3. The offenses would light up the scoreboard in the second game as the Nighthawks would score two runs in the first inning but the Knights would come back in the bottom half of the inning with a two-run single from Raulerson and an RBI single from
Logan Blizzard and the Knights would take a 3-2 lead. The Knights would not hold the lead for long as the Nighthawks would score one run in the third inning and four runs in the third inning as the Knights would trail 7-3. The Knights would score one run in the bottom half of the third inning to close the gap to 7-4 but the Nighthawks would get the run back in the fourth inning. The Knights would make a run at the Nighthawks with two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on a Lawrence sacrifice fly and an RBI single from
Arabia Easley that would close the deficit to 8-6 but the Knights would be unable to score any more runs as they would lose the second game of the doubleheader. The losses drops the Knights record to 14-4 going into the conference play this weekend as they travel to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to take on the Crusaders of William Carey University. First pitch is scheduled for Friday, March 11th at 3 PM CST.
