Knights Can't Get Job Done at Loyola

New Orleans, LA - The Knights were on the road for a conference weekend as they traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana to take on the Wolfpack of Loyola University. The Knights were on a three game losing streak going into the series and were looking to get in the win column. The Knights would fall behind in the first game as they would give up two runs in the second inning. The Knights would get one run back in the fourth inning after back-to-back singles by Paolo Brossier and Justin Brooks and an error by the Wolfpack would allow Brossier to score. The Knights would not get any closer as the Wolfpack would score another run in the fifth inning and the Knights would lose the first game of the series 3-1. The second game of the series would not start out any more promising as they Knights would fall behind 3-0 in the third inning. The Knights would get a run back in the fifth inning after three straight singles by Jaiden Duarte, Brooks, and Rafael Gomez Jr would get the Knights on the board. The Knights would give up another two runs in the bottom half of the inning and the deficit would grow to 5-1. The Knights would score three runs in the sixth inning after Brian Herrera would lead off the inning getting hit by a pitch. A Blake Metcalfe double would score Herrera and RBI singles by Brossier and Duarte would cut the lead down to 5-4. The Knights would tie the game in the seventh inning after Gomez Jr would lead off the inning with a single and Herrera would hit the RBI single to tie the game at 5-5. The Knights would give up two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and would go on to lose 7-5. The third and final game of the series would be one to forget as the Knights would be shutout, losing 10-0. The Knights will return to the field on Tuesday, April 12th as they travel to Waleska, Georgia to take on the Eagles of Reinhardt University. First pitch is scheduled for 4 PM EST.
