Volleyball Holds Their Own in Three Straight Matches

Macon, GA - The Knights Volleyball team played three matches over three straight days, beginning on Thursday, September 22nd as they traveled to Decatur, Georgia to take on the Scotties of Agnes Scott College. The Knights and Scotties would play the first few points of the first set close before the Knights would gain some momentum to take the lead and go on to win the set 25-14. The Knights would jump out to an early lead in the second set before the Scotties would come back and make the set close at 10-9. The Knights would regain their momentum and would go on to win the second set 25-22. The Knights would jump out to another early lead in the third set and would not let the Scotties back into the set, winning 25-16. The Knights would return home on Friday, September 23rd as they would welcome the Rams of the University of Mobile. The first set of the match was back and forth throughout until the Rams would edge out to a three point lead and the Knights would be unable to reel the Rams back in, losing the set 25-19. The second set would see the Rams jump out to an early lead before the Knights would bring them back to a 6-6 tie. The set would again remain close before the Rams would take control late and the Knights would lose the second set 25-18. The Knights would fall behind early in the third set as the two close sets caught up with them as the Rams would win the third set 25-11. The Knights would have to regain their composure quickly as they would host the Eagles of Faulkner University on Saturday, September 24th. The first set of the match would see the Eagles take an early lead before the Knights would bring them back. The set would continue to go back and forth as both teams looked evenly matched before the Knights would finally gain an advantage and win the set 31-29. The Knights would give up the second and third sets to the Eagles before looking like themselves in the fourth set. The Knights would take a small lead early on in the set before the Eagles would come back. The set would remain close before the Eagles would close out the set on a 6-2 run and the Knights would lose 25-19. The Knights will be back in action on Saturday, October 1st as they host the Barons of Brewton-Parker College. The match is set to start at 2 PM EST.
