Mount Vernon, GA - The Knights were back in action on Thursday, January 5th as they traveled to Mount Vernon, Georgia to take on the Barons of Brewton-Parker College. The Knights came into the game on a four game losing streak and were looking to get back in the win column. After the Barons would hit a free throw to open the scoring, the Knights would take the lead 2-1. The Knights would continue to extend their lead as the lead quickly grew to eight points. The Barons would cut the lead down to three points before the Knights would regain control and extend it back out to eight points. The eight point lead would be the largest lead the Knights would have in the first half as the Knights and Barons would continue to battle with the Knights taking a three point lead into halftime. The battle would continue into the second half as the Knights would lose the lead early in the second half but would go on a run to regain the lead and never look back as they would jump out to a nine point lead before winning the game 78-74.
N'Kyzie Hawkins led the Knights with 21 points off the bench as three other Knights (
Maliek Sadler (18),
Brice Martin (13), and
Jayce Moore (10) would reach double digits in scoring. The Knights will look to build on their momentum as they will be back in action on Saturday, January 7th when they host the Tigers of Stillman College. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 PM EST.
