Beaufort, SC - The Knights hit the road for the first time this season as they traveled to Beaufort, South Carolina to take on the Sand Sharks of USC-Beaufort. The Knights were coming off of a four game series sweep of Shawnee State University and were looking to carry that momentum into this game. The Knights would get the scoring started in the first inning with a solo home run from Rafael Gomez Jr and the Knights would take the early 1-0 lead. The Knights would not hold the lead for long as the Sand Sharks would score eight runs across four innings and the Knights would be down 8-1 after the fifth inning. The Knights would score two runs in the sixth inning to cut the lead to 8-3 but the Sand Sharks would score a run in the bottom half of the inning and two runs in the eighth to extend their lead to 11-3. The Knights would get a solo home run from Brennon Williams in the ninth inning but it would be too little, too late as the Knights would lose 11-4. The Knights will be back in action on Sunday, February 12th as they host the Nighthawks of Thomas University after rain forced the away series to be played at home. First pitch is scheduled for 1 PM EST.
