Knights Sweep Toppers in Conference Opener

Cochran, GA - The Knights were back on the field on Saturday, March 11th as they,opened the conference schedule at home against the Toppers of Blue Mountain Christian University. The first game of the doubleheader would start off slow as neither teams could get the offense going until the Knights would break through in the third inning. The Knights would score the first two runs of the inning off of errors by the Toppers and get two more runs on an Emma Raulerson RBI triple and a sacrifice fly by Logan Blizzard. The Knights would get another run in the fourth inning on a Lauren Heath RBI single and the Knights would hold a 5-0 lead. The Knights would give up three runs in the sixth inning on a home run but would hold on for the 5-3 win. The Knights would not wait in the second game as they would score two runs in the first inning on a Blizzard two run home run. The Knights would get another run in the third inning on a fielder's choice as they would take a 3-0 lead. The Knights would add on more runs in the fifth inning with a Morgan Windham solo home run and a RBI double from Blizzard to put the Knights up 5-0. The Knights would give up two runs in the seventh inning but would get the 5-2 victory. The sweep puts the Knights at 16-2 on the season as they play again on Monday, March 13th as they host the Tigers of Stillman College. First pitch is scheduled for 11 AM EST.
