Knights Take Two From Barons on Road

Mount Vernon, GA - The Knights hit the road on Tuesday, march 21st as they traveled to Mount Vernon, Georgia to take on the Barons of Brewton-Parker College in a non-conference doubleheader. The Knights were coming off of a conference weekend that saw them take two of three game from Blue Mountain Christian University and they were looking to get a couple of more wins. The Knights would things started early in the first game of the series as they would score two runs in the first inning on a JT Rice solo home run and a Garrett Dennis RBI groundout as they would take a 2-0 lead after the first inning. The Knights would allow a run in the third inning but would score four runs in the sixth inning on a Ryan Wilson RBI single, a two-run single from Andrew Krauss, and a passed ball that would allow Wilson to score as the Knights would take a 6-1 lead. The Knights would add on another run in the seventh inning on a Jaiden Duarte solo home run and would go on to win the game 7-1. Logan Lee would throw a complete game, throwing all seven innings and allowing one run on three hits. The Knights would come back in the second game of the series and be down early as they would allow two runs to score in the first inning. The Knights would tie the game in the third inning with a Wilson two-run home run but the Barons would score three runs in the bottom half of the inning and the Knights would face a 5-2 deficit. The Knights would answer back in the fourth inning with four runs on a Rice walk and a Datren Bray three run double to put the Knights up 6-5. The Knights would score three more runs in the fifth inning on a Bray RBI single, a Rice sacrifice fly, and a Josiah Rivera RBI single that would put the Knights up 9-5. The Knights would give up four runs in the bottom half of the inning as the game would be tied at 9-9 after five innings. The Knights would score two runs in the sixth inning on a Brennon Williams RBI single and a Duarte sacrifice fly and would score four runs in the seventh inning on a Wilson RBI single and a Krauss three run home run to put the Knights up 15-9 and they would go on to win the game by the same score. Cauy Williams would get the win for the Knights, throwing two scoreless innings and allowing no hits. The Knights will be on the road on Saturday, March 25th as they take on the Screaming Eagles of Toccoa Falls College followed by the Grizzlies of Georgia Gwinnett College. First pitch is scheduled for 2 PM EST.
