Knights Lose Two Close Games to Grizzlies

Cochran, GA - The Knights were on the field on Saturday, April 29th as they hosted the 11th-ranked Grizzlies of Georgia Gwinnett College. It would be the final time the Knights would play at home this season. The Knights would get the scoring started in the first game of the series in the second inning as Georgia Bice would hit a solo home run to give the Knights the early 1-0 lead. The Grizzlies would fight back as they would score two runs in the fourth inning and one run in the fifth inning to take a 3-1 lead. The Knights would fight back as they would score one run in the sixth inning on a wild pitch to close the deficit to 3-2. The Knights would be unable to score any more runs as they would lose 3-2. The second game of the series would see the Grizzlies jump out to a 4-0 lead after the second inning. The Knights would score a run in the third inning to close the gap to 4-1 and would continue to fight throughout the game as they would score one run in the sixth inning on a Bice RBI double and score one run in the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly by Emma Raulerson. The Knights would be unable to break through to score any more runs as they would lose the second game 4-3. The Knights record moves to 38-12 as they head into the SSAC Tournament where they will play the 7-seed Toppers of Blue Mountain Christian University on Thursday, April 4th at 2 PM CST.
