Cochran, GA - The Knights were back in action on Wednesday, January 31st as they hosted the Nighthawks of Thomas University for a mid-week conference game. The Knights previously played the Nighthawks in November and lost a close game and were looking to exact some revenge. The Knights would score the first three points of the game before the Nighthawks would score the next seven points. The Knights would answer back with a 9-0 run to take a 12-7 lead early in the first half. The game would remain close until the Knights would find some momentum as would take a 25-15 lead with 8:03 left in the first half. The momentum for the Knights would fade as the Nighthawks would close the lead down to two points but the Knights would hold on to the lead as they would lead 36-31 at the halftime break. The Nighthawks would tie the game at 36-36 to start off the second half but the Knights would use a 7-0 run to jump back out in front. The momentum for the Knights would continue as the would extend their lead to 52-39 before the Nighthawks would use a 9-0 run to cut into the lead. The Knights not let the Nighthawks get any closer as they would pull away to lead by as much as 17 points before finishing the game with the 81-67 victory.
Pierles Brown led the Knights with 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting, 6-of-8 from beyond the 3-point line. The Knights bench would come up clutch as the Knights would score 41 points off the bench. The Knights will be back in action on Saturday, February 3rd as they travel to West Point, Georgia to take on the Skyhawks of Point University. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 PM EST.
