Hattiesburg, MS - The Knights remained on the road on Saturday, January 6th as they traveled to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to take on the Crusaders of William Carey University. The Knights were trying to end a five game losing streak and looked to have good odds as the Knights defeated the Crusaders in both matchups last season. The Knights would fall behind from the start as they Crusaders would score the first five points of the game but the Knights would keep the game within reach. The Knights would cut the deficit down to two points with 14:35 remaining in the first half but the Knights shooting would go cold. The Knights would quickly find themselves down by double digits as the deficit would grow to as much as 28 points before the first half would end with the Knights down 53-28. The Knights would continue to fight in the second half as they would face a large deficit. The lead would grow to 29 points before the Knights would start to mount a comeback as they would cut the lead down to 11 points with 7:14 remaining in the second half. It would be as close as the Knights would get as they would go on to lose the game 89-75. The Knights were led by
Brice Martin with 24 points and 14 rebounds, 10 of those points coming from the free throw line. The Knights will be back in action on Wednesday, January 10th as they host the Tigers of Voorhees University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 PM EST.
