Cochran, GA - The Knights were back in action on Tuesday, October 29th as they opened the regular season at home against the Mariners of the College of Coastal Georgia. The Knights were eager to get the season started with a mixture of returning players and newcomers.

The Knights would get off to a good start as they would jump out to a 4-0 lead with the Mariners tying the game at 5-5. The Mariners would pull away late in the first quarter as the Knights would not score in the final 3:07 of the quarter. The Mariners would try to extend their lead and pull away from the Knights in the second quarter but the Knights would cut the lead down to four points before heading into halftime down 33-25. The third quarter would start off slow for the Knights as the Mariners would get out to a 15 point lead before the quarter would end with the Knights down by 14 points. The Knights would cut the deficit down to nine points with 5:27 remaining in the game but the Mariners would hold them off as the Knights would lose 62-48. Vanessa Samuel led the Knights with 17 points on 6 of 15 shooting, five assists, and three steals.

The Knights will return to action on Wednesday, November 6th as they make the return trip to Brunswick, Georgia to have a rematch against the Mariners. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 PM EST.
