Waleska, GA - The Knights were on the road on Saturday, February 17th as they traveled to Waleska, Georgia to take on the 8th-ranked Gold Rush of Xavier University. The Knights were looking for revenge against the Gold Rush as Xavier was the team that knocked the Knights out of the NAIA Tournament last season. The Knights would get things started with a win in the #1 doubles match with a 6-1 win but would lose the #2 doubles match as the doubles point would come down to the #3 doubles match. The match would be hard fought but the Knights would take the 7-6 win and get the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead in the overall match. The Knights looked poised to dominate the match as they would get points from the #1 and #3 singles matches to take a 3-0 overall lead but the Gold Rush would win the next two points in the #5 and #4 matches to make the overall score 3-2. The Knights would finish off the match with a win in the #2 singles match as they would the overall match 4-2.

The win for the Knights is the first win against the Gold Rush since 2021. The Knights will be back on their home court on Thursday, February 22nd as they host the 22nd-ranked Phoenix of Cumberland University. Match is scheduled to start at 2 PM EST.
