Mount Vernon, GA - The Knights were back in action on Monday, February 5th as they traveled to Mount Vernon, Georgia to take on the Barons of Brewton-Parker College. The Knights were riding a wave of momentum as they had won the last two games and had put themselves into 10th place in the SSAC to go to the conference tournament. The game would start off with both teams trading the lead early in the first half with the Knights trailing for a large portion of the first nine minutes of the half. The Barons shooting would go cold and the Knights would take advantage of the drought as the Knights would turn a 17-16 deficit into a 33-17 lead at the halftime break, scoring the final 17 points of the first half. The Knights would come out of the halftime break looking to increase their lead even more as the lead would grow to 22 points with 10:17 remaining in the game. The Barons would cut the lead down to 13 points but the Knights would keep them from getting any closer as the Knights would go on to win 71-58.
Pierles Brown led the Knights with 24 points on 8-of-19 shooting from the field as
Brice Martin and
Adarius Oliver would each reach double digits in scoring with 13 and 11 points, respectively. The Knights guarded the rim as they would set a new school record with 16 blocks in a game. The Knights will be back in action on Thursday, February 8th as they will host the Rams of the University of Mobile. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST.
