Late Comebacks Not Enough for Knights

New Orleans, LA - The Knights were back on the road on Friday, March 29th as they traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana to take on the 15th-ranked Wolfpack of Loyola University. The Knights were coming off of a series win against Blue Mountain and were looking to their positive momentum.

Game One

The Knights would start off the first game of the series with the positive momentum as the Knights would score one run in the second inning on an RBI single by Yariel Diaz and one run in the third inning on an RBI single by Chaz Salter as the Knights would hold a 2-0 lead. The Wolfpack would score one run in the bottom half of the third inning and blow the game open with six runs in the fourth inning as the Knights would trail 7-2. The Knights would attempt a comeback in the sixth inning as they would get a three-run home run from Adam Alicea-Brooks to cut the deficit down to 7-5. The Wolfpack would answer back in the bottom half of the inning with two runs as the Knights would drop the first game 9-5.

Game Two

The Knights would get off to another great start in the second game of the series as they would score two runs in the first inning on a two-run double by JT Rice but the Wolfpack would score two runs in the second inning and the game would be tied at 2-2. The Knights would re-take the lead in the third inning with an RBI single by Hunter Noblitt but the Wolfpack would have another big inning as they would score five runs in the bottom of the third and the Knights would trail 7-3. The Wolfpack would extend their lead in the fifth inning by one run before the Knights would try to mount a comeback. The Knights would score three runs in the seventh inning on a solo home run by Jacob Pierce and a two-run double by Hunter Noblitt as the lead would be cut to 8-6. The Wolfpack would score two runs in the seventh inning and one run in the eighth inning as the Knights attempt would be thwarted and the Knights would lose the second game 11-6.

The Knights will be back on the field on Saturday, March 30th as they wrap up the series against the Wolfpack with one game starting at 2 PM EST.
