Knights Sweep Barons on Senior Day

Cochran, GA - The Knights were at home one final time this season as they hosted the Barons of Brewton-Parker College. The Knights were looking for the sweep to give them a chance at being the 1-seed for the SSAC Tournament with a some help from around the league and they were also celebrating Senior Day.

Game One

The Barons would get the game started with a run as the Knights would face an early deficit but the Knights would strike back in the second inning as they would tie the game on an RBI single by Summer Lawrence. The Knights would take the lead in the third inning with an RBI single by Emily Proctor and the Knights would hold a 2-1 lead. The Knights would extend their lead in the fifth inning with a two-run triple by Summer Lawrence and a wild pitch would allow her to score as the Knights would take a 5-1 lead and go on to win the game by the same score. Emily Proctor would throw the complete game, allowing four hits while striking out nine batters.

Game Two

The Knights would have the same start in the second game of the series with the Barons jumping out to a 2-0 lead. The Knights would get one run back in the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Georgia Bice as the Knights would trail 2-1. The Knights would bust the game open in the fourth inning with an RBI single by Gabbie Haas, a two-run single by Morgan Windham, a wild pitch that allow a run to score, and a two-run home run by Summer Lawrence as the Knights would take a 7-2 lead and would hold on to win by the same score. Beth Eddins pitched the complete game, allowing four hits while striking out two batters.

The Knights locked up the 2-seed for the SSAC Tournament as they await the final results from other games. The Knights will play on Thursday, May 2nd as they will play the winner of the 7-seed vs 10-seed game. First pitch is scheduled for 2 PM CST.
