Columbia, SC - The Knights were on the road for the first time this season on Wednesday, August 28th as they traveled to Columbia, South Carolina to take on the Koalas of Columbia College. The Knights were coming off of a win and were looking to get a winning streak started against a team that they scrimmaged last season.
The Knights looked good early in the match with a shot in the sixth minute before they would get on the scoreboard in the 13th minute off the foot of
Moos Zwerts. The Knights would hold the lead until the 37th minute when a penalty kick by the Koalas would tie the match at 1-1. The match would remain tied at the halftime break. The Knights would have multiple opportunities in the second half but would be unable to convert before the Koalas would go ahead in the 76th minute. The Knights would not get off another shot for the remainder of the match as they would fall 2-1. The Knights were outshot 10-9 as the match was a fairly even contest.
The Knights will have a couple of days to regroup as they return to the pitch on Saturday, August 31st when they host the Bears of Truett-McConnell University. That match is set to kick off at 3:30 PM EST.
