Women’s Basketball Schedule Announced

8/6/2024 2:38:00 PM

Cochran, GA – Middle Georgia State University head women's basketball coach Anderson Ligon has announced the Knights schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season. The Knights will look to return to the SSAC Tournament after missing out last season.

"Our 2024-25 women's basketball schedule is a great opportunity to build momentum as we prepare for the exciting transition to the NCAA & Peach Belt Conference next season. Additionally, our schedule comprises the strength of the SSAC, along with scrimmages, exhibitions, and non-conference games," said Ligon.

"As we enter this pivotal basketball season, success will hinge on contributions from every corner of our team. Our seniors, with their wealth of experience and leadership, will be crucial in guiding us through challenging games and setting the standard for excellence. The non senior returners are familiar with our program and culture. They bring stability and a relentless drive to improve upon last season's performance. Our newcomers, with their fresh energy and talent, will inject excitement and passion, pushing the team to new heights. Our coaching staff is ready to work with this roster on and off the court to achieve our shared goals."

"Furthermore, we are grateful for the opportunities, camaraderie, and memorable experiences the NAIA & SSAC have provided. As we transition to the NCAA and Peach Belt Conference next season, we carry forward the valuable lessons and strong relationships we built while working together with our stakeholders. Embracing this change with gratitude, we look forward to new challenges and achievements the NCAA and PBC offer while honoring the legacy we've created in the NAIA & SSAC." said Ligon.

The Knights will start off the campaign with two home preseason games on October 15th against Central Georgia Tech and October 22nd against East Georgia College.

The regular season will tip-off on October 29th as the Knights will host the Mariners of the College of Coastal Georgia. They will then hit the road for a four-game stretch with a non-conference game against the College of Coastal Georgia followed by three conference games against SSAC newcomer Abraham Baldwin, Thomas University, and Faulkner University.

The ladies will return home on November 23rd for a five-game home stand starting with Point University followed by Life University, Brewton-Parker College, Fort Valley State University, and Faulkner University. The Knights will travel to Mobile, Alabama on January 16th to take on the Rams before returning home for a weekend series against William Carey and Loyola.

The Knights hit the road again on January 28th for a two-week road trip with games against Albany State University, UT-Southern, Blue Mountain Christian University, and Fort Valley State University before returning home for games against Albany State University and Abraham Baldwin. The schedule will finish off the regular season with a road trip to Life University and Point University before returning to Cochran for the final home game of the season against Thomas University.
