Marietta, GA - The Knights were back on the court on Saturday, September 14th as they remained on the road for a match against the Running Eagles of Life University. The Knights were coming off of a tough loss to Point University and were looking to get back in the win column.
The Knights would show some life in the first set as the Running Eagles would get out to a four point lead but the Knights would come back and remain close throughout the set. The Knights would close the lead down to 19-17 but the Running Eagles would win eight of the last ten points and the Knights would lose the set 25-19. The Knights would fall behind again in the second set but would come back to take a 7-6 lead. The Running Eagles would go on a number of runs to pull away and the Knights would lose the second set 25-14. The third set would start off rough for the Knights as they would fall behind 13-2 but they would fight back as they would close the lead down to five points but would run out of points as they would lose the third set 25-19.
Ellie Johnson led the Knights with six kills while
Yanelis Rodriguez and
Graysen Lallier each added five kills,
Harley Mitchell had six assists, and
Paige Collier had 10 digs.
The Knights will hit the road again on Wednesday, September 18th as they travel to Savannah, Georgia for a rematch against the Tigers of Savannah State University. That match is set to tip off at 6 PM EST.
