Mobile, AL - The Knights were on the road on Thursday, January 16th as they were set to take on the Rams of the University of Mobile. The Knights were coming off of a close win on Tuesday and would be in for another close game on Thursday.
The Rams made the first basket of the game but the Knights would be on their game early as they jumped out to a 16-4 lead early in the first half. The Rams chipped away at the lead with the Knights holding a three point lead with 8:21 remaining in the half but the Knights recovered to jump back out by 13 points. The Rams used an eight point run to close out the first half with the Knights holding a 38-33 lead. The Knights tried to pull away in the second half but the Rams would tie the game at 47-47 and the Knights found themselves down by nine points with 9:09 remaining in the game. The Knights worked their way back to within one point but could not take the lead as they would lose 77-72.
Nick Cham led the Knights with 14 points off of the bench as
Milique Smith (13 points, 17 rebounds) and
Bryce Turner (12 points, 11 rebounds) would each add a double-double.
The Knights will hit the road again on Tuesday, January 21st for their next game when they face the Tigers of Voorhees University. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 PM EST.
