MACON, Ga. - The Knights returned to their home court on Friday as they hosted the Pacers of USC-Aiken. The Knights were coming off of a tri-match in which they defeated Clark Atlanta University but were beaten by Shorter University.
The Pacers had an early lead in the first set but the Knights came back to tie the set at 6-6. The set stayed close with the Knights taking a 14-11 lead but the Pacers made their own comeback to tie the set at 20-20. The Pacers went up 24-21 but three straight points by the Knights tied the set at 24-24 before the Pacers won the final two points and the Knights lost 26-24. The Pacers won six of the first seven points in the second set but the Knights were able to get back within two points. The Pacers pulled away late in the set with the Knights losing the set 25-18. The Knights had a better start to the third set as they jumped out to a 6-3 lead. The Pacers won five of the next six points to put the Knights behind by one point as both teams used multiple point runs to take the lead. The Knights would go on to lose the third set 25-21.
McCall Wolf led the Knights with 19 kills,
Ellie Johnson had 30 assists, and
Paige Collier had 17 digs.
The Knights will return to the court on Friday, October 17th as they head to Greenwood, South Carolina to take on the Bearcats of Lander University. Tip off is scheudled for 6 PM EST.
