MACON, Ga. - The Knights were back on their home court on Thursday as they hosted the Jaguars of Augusta University. The Knights previously played the Jaguars on the road, losing 3-0, and were looking to push the top team in the Peach Belt Conference to their limit.
The Knights did not get off to a great start in the first set as they went down 8-3 but found a spark to win six of the next seven points to tie the set at 9-9. The Jaguars were able to rebound as they pulled away and the Knights lost the set 25-15. The second set was better for the Knights as they jumped out to a 4-2 lead. After the Jaguars won four straight points, the Knights were able to tie the set at 7-7. The set stayed close with the Knights holding a slight edge over the Jaguars until the end when the Knights held a 22-19 lead but the Jaguars won six of the final seven points to hand the Knights a 25-23 set loss. The Knights grabbed another early lead in the third set, leading 7-3, before the Jaguars stormed back to tie the set at 16-16. The Knights held their composure as they won nine of the last 12 points of the set to win 25-19. The Knights won the first point of the fourth set but the Jaguars won the next seven points to put the Knights behind and they faced an uphill battle throughout the set as they were unable to come back from the early deficit and lost the set 25-17. 
Ellie Johnson led the Knights with 12 kills on her way to a triple-double, adding on 14 assists and 13 digs. 
Aubrie Beard led the way with 17 assists as 
Yanelis Rodriguez and 
Paige Collier each had 21 digs.
The Knights will be back in action on Saturday, October 25th as they head to Augusta, Georgia to take on the Jaguars again as well as the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College. Tip off is scheduled for 1 PM EST.
