AIKEN, S.C. - The Knights were on the road for their final match of the season on Saturday as they headed to Aiken, South Carolina to take on the Pacers of USC-Aiken. The Knights were already eliminated from the Peach Belt Conference Tournament and were playing with nothing to lose.
The Knights started the match off by having to play some defense as the Pacers were able to possess the ball for much of the first 30 minutes of the first half. The Knights were finally able to create some shots late in the first half with three shots in the final 15 minutes but two were blocked and the other shot was saved by the Pacers goalkeeper as the match went into the halftime break tied at 0-0. The Pacers were relentless in their attack coming out of the break as the Knights defense tried to keep the match scoreless. The Pacers scored goals in the 58th and 59th minutes to go up 2-0 and the Knights had to play tough to get back in the match. The Knights had two opportunities in the second half with both shots being saved as the Knights went on to lose 2-0. The Knights were out shot 19-5, 12-3 in shots on goal as
Hollie Keefe made 10 saves on the day.
The Knights finish the season with a record of 4-9-5, 0-8-2 in Peach Belt Conference play.
