COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights were back in action on Wednesday as they hosted the Blazers of Valdosta State University. The Knights came into the game having won their last two games and were looking to keep the run alive.
The game was a close one throughout as the Knights and Blazers went toe-to-toe. The Knights and Blazers traded the lead a multitude of times in the first half. The Knights had a five point lead after five minutes of play but the Blazers used a 10-0 run to take their own five point lead. The two teams continued to battle with the Blazers starting to hold an edge over the Knights late in the first half. The Blazers held their largest lead of six points with 4:40 remaining in the half before the Knights closed the lead down to three points at the halftime break to trail 54-51. The Blazers held another six point lead early in the second half before the Knights quickly tied the game at 61-61. The game went back and forth between the two teams before the Knights started to hold the advantage. The Knights got out to a five point lead and held the lead until the final few minutes of the game. The Blazers and Knights traded baskets until the very end of the game with the Blazers taking a one point lead with :02 seconds left. Krishen Atwal who sank the buzzer beating shot to put the Knights in the win column. Atwal ended the game with 25 points to lead the Knights as four other players finished with double digits.
The Knights will take a day off to recover before heading back out on the road as they head to Mount Olive, North Carolina to take part in the Pickle Classic, hosted by the University of Mount Olive. The Knights will take on the Trojans on Friday, November 21st with tip off scheduled for 7 PM EST.
