Box Score SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Knights were on the road on Friday as they headed to Saint Augustine, Florida to take on the Saints of Flagler College. The Knights got a much needed win on Tuesday and were looking to keep the momentum rolling.
The Saints jumped out to an early lead on the Knights and the Knights were quickly down by five points. The Saints lead continued to grow with a five-point run that made it a 15-6 deficit for the Knights that they were unable to come back from as they lost the set 25-16. The second set got off to a better start for the Knights as they were able to keep up with the Saints. The Knights started to fall behind later in the set with the Saints putting together multiple runs to put a gap on the Knights. The Knights kept fighting but the deficit was too much as the Knights lost the set 25-20. The Knights opened up the third set much like they opened the second set as they kept pace with the Saints. The Saints used a six-point run to open a gap and the Knights found themselves down 17-7. A five-point run by the Knights got them back to within striking distance of the Saints but they were unable to close any further as they lost the set 25-20.
Mia Matheney led the Knights with nine kills and no errors on 12 attacks,
Aubrie Beard had 12 assists, and
Paige Collier had 14 digs.
The Knights will be back on the court on Saturday, November 8
th as they take on the Saints again. Tip off is scheduled for 3 PM EST.
