GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Knights were on the road on Saturday as they headed to Greenwood, South Carolina to take on the Bearcats of Lander University in the first round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. The Knights were the 7-seed in the tournament and the Bearcats were the 2-seed.
The Knights had to play defense as the Bearcats possessed the ball for much of the first half. The Bearcats kept the ball away from the Knights with the Knights having only two opportunities in the first half. The Knights first chance was ended on an offside call and the second chance was a long shot by
Moos Zwerts that sailed just over the crossbar. The Bearcats were able to score one goal in the first half and the Knights trailed 1-0 at halftime. The match was delayed by lightning for an hour before the second half was started. The second half was again dominated in possession by the Bearcats. The Knights had three shots in the second half with only one finding their target but was saved by the Bearcats keeper. The Bearcats scored two more goals in the second half and the Knights lost 3-0. The Knights were outshot 18-4, 10-1 in shots on goal.
The Knights finish the season with a record of 4-12-2, 0-11-1 PBC.
