COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights were back in action on Saturday as they faced the Sand Sharks of USC-Beaufort. The Knights were still searching for their first Peach Belt Conference win on the season and the Sand Sharks looked to be a tough test.
The Knights jumped on the Sand Sharks early, scoring the first six points of the game, before the Sand Sharks fought back and tied the game at 12-12. The Knights pushed the lead back out to seven points but the Sand Sharks fought back and tied the game again at 23-23. The Knights grabbed the lead again and extended it out to six points late in the first half before heading into halftime up 41-37.
The lead for the Knights reached nine points in the second half as they looked to be in control of the game. The Sand Sharks made a comeback to tie the game at 59-59 with 13:05 left in the game. The lead changed hands a few times before the Sand Sharks started to pull away from the Knights. The Knights deficit grew to as much as 11 points before they tried to mount their own comeback. The Knights cut the lead down to four points but were unable to get closer as they lost the game 93-85.
Three Knights (
Joshua Robertson,
Milique Smith,
Nick Cham) each had 16 points to lead the way as
Greg Jones added 14 points and
OT Delancy added 10 points.
The Knights will be back in action on Tuesday, December 16th as they host the Saints of Flagler College. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 PM EST.
